SMEOCEAN At Chile AQUA SUR 2024
On March 19, 2024, the three-day AQUASUR 2024 opened with great fanfare in Puerto Montt, Chile. As the most influential industry event in the Southern Hemisphere's aquaculture sector, AQUASUR is held biennially in Puerto Montt, Chile's core aquaculture hub. Strategically supported by AQUA NOR, the world's second-largest aquaculture trade show, AQUASUR is widely recognized for its international influence and industry authority.
This year's AQUASUR 2024 took place at the TMP Logistics Center in Puerto Montt, with an exhibition area exceeding 17,000 square meters. It attracted 480 exhibitors from 48 countries worldwide and welcomed 22,738 visitors. Through a variety of activities, including technical forums, product demonstrations, and business matchmaking, the event showcased the latest technological advances and innovative solutions across the entire aquaculture industry chain.
SMEOCEAN, a leading Chinese company in marine fishery equipment, showcased its independently developed aquaculture anchoring system at the exhibition. As one of only two companies in the Chinese delegation, the SMEOCEAN team captured the spotlight with its professional image and exceptional service. Booth managers Lily and Sophia showcased Chinese companies' technological strength in marine engineering equipment to South American customers through technical presentations, case studies, and live demonstrations. During the exhibition, SMEOCEAN's "White Paper on Aquaculture Anchoring Systems" sparked a buying frenzy, with over 500 copies sold out. Core products such as 32-42mm studded chains, specialized fishing anchors, high-strength shackles, and smart mooring discs garnered significant attention.
The company's business philosophy of "safety first, quality at its core" has earned widespread recognition. Through in-depth discussions with customers from Chile, Peru, and other countries, the SMEOCEAN team discussed topics such as wind and wave-resistant anchoring technology for deep-sea aquaculture and the integration of intelligent monitoring systems, resulting in several technical collaboration agreements. After the exhibition, at the invitation of the Chilean Fisheries Association, the SMEOCEAN technical team visited over ten industry-leading salmon farms, including Australis and Camanchaca, to gain an in-depth understanding of their modern aquaculture processes and digital management systems. In light of the strong winds and waves in South American waters, the two sides conducted a technical demonstration on optimized anchoring systems, focusing on innovative solutions such as the use of high-strength composite materials and dynamic tension adjustment devices.
This exhibition not only strengthened SMEOCEAN's brand influence in the Latin American market but also provided a Chinese solution to the global deep-sea aquaculture industry through technology exports and localized collaboration. Company representatives revealed that the company will subsequently launch customized product lines for the South American market and plans to establish a regional technical service center in Chile, further promoting the upgrading of China-Chile aquaculture technology cooperation.
