This design allows the Pear Shaped Shackle to connect chain links of different diameters, making it a versatile alternative to more complex multi-component assemblies. It can replace the combined use of a D-Shackle, End Link, Enlarged Link, and Kenter Shackle with a single, streamlined component.Grade 3 (U3) is the standard and only grade manufactured for this product in the maritime industry. Grade 2 Pear Shackles are no longer in use.

A Kenter Shackle connects two sections of chain and passes through the windlass. A Pear Shaped Shackle connects the chain to the anchor crown shackle and features a tapered design for size compensation. The Pear Shackle can replace the combined use of D-Shackle, End Link, Enlarged Link, and Kenter Shackle.
Q2: Is Grade 3 the only Available Grade for Pear Shaped Shackles?
Yes. Grade 2 Pear Shackles are no longer used in the maritime industry. All current Pear Shaped Shackles are manufactured in Grade 3 (U3).
